All news- Housing Department Publishes the Affordable Housing Programme
The Department will deliver 1,200 affordable homes by 31 December 2028. The first phase of 340 homes at the six principal sites is under way: 96 homes were completed during the transition period and 214 are under construction.
- Housing Register Opens and Standard Tenancy Agreement Published
The Housing Register opens today to staff of member organisations and citizens of the Network, with 1,860 households carried over from the waiting lists of member organisations. The Department's standard tenancy agreement applies to every Department home from today.
- Housing Department Confirms Homelessness Service and Emergency Accommodation
Anyone in the Network without a home, or at risk of losing one within 56 days, may apply to the Department for help from today. The Department holds 120 places of emergency accommodation at four sites, of which 38 were occupied at establishment.
About the Department
The Housing Department of the Velocity Interoperability Network is responsible for affordable housing, for the letting and management of homes within the Velocity Interoperability Network, for the standard that every home let in the Network must meet, and for services for people without a home.
It manages 4,120 homes transferred from member organisations, delivers the Affordable Housing Programme, keeps the Housing Register, inspects homes against the Housing Standard and provides emergency accommodation and settled housing for people who are homeless.

The Affordable Housing Programme published, the Housing Register opened with 1,860 households, the standard tenancy agreement applied to every Department home and the homelessness service confirmed with 120 places of emergency accommodation.

First lettings and quarterly reporting
The first offers of the 96 completed homes are made from 21 September 2026. The second phase of the programme and the first quarterly statistical report, covering the quarter ending 30 September 2026, will be announced in the Newsroom.
