The Housing Department has been formally established and today launches its official website at housing.gov.vin. The Department takes responsibility for 4,120 homes transferred from member organisations, for the Affordable Housing Programme and for services for people without a home.

About the Department

The Housing Department of the Velocity Interoperability Network is responsible for affordable housing, for the letting and management of homes within the Velocity Interoperability Network, for the standard that every home let in the Network must meet, and for services for people without a home.

It manages 4,120 homes transferred from member organisations, delivers the Affordable Housing Programme, keeps the Housing Register, inspects homes against the Housing Standard and provides emergency accommodation and settled housing for people who are homeless.

    Department established

    Responsibility for affordable housing, the letting and management of 4,120 homes transferred from member organisations, the Housing Standard and services for people without a home.

  2. 6 September 2026

    housing.gov.vin launched

    Press releases, the Housing Standard, the terms of the standard tenancy agreement and guidance on every service published on the official website.

  3. 6 September 2026

    Programme, register and homelessness service confirmed

    The Affordable Housing Programme published, the Housing Register opened with 1,860 households, the standard tenancy agreement applied to every Department home and the homelessness service confirmed with 120 places of emergency accommodation.

  4. Forthcoming

    First lettings and quarterly reporting

    The first offers of the 96 completed homes are made from 21 September 2026. The second phase of the programme and the first quarterly statistical report, covering the quarter ending 30 September 2026, will be announced in the Newsroom.
