Housing Department Publishes the Affordable Housing Programme
Office of the Spokesperson

The Housing Department of the Velocity Interoperability Network today published its Affordable Housing Programme. The programme will deliver 1,200 homes for the staff of member organisations and citizens of the Network by 31 December 2028, let at rents no higher than 70 per cent of the comparable market rent.
The first phase of 340 homes is being built at the six principal sites of the Network and will be complete by 30 June 2027. Ninety-six of those homes, at Eastfield Campus and Northgate Relay, were completed by member organisations during the transition period and handed to the Department on establishment; they will be let through the Housing Register from 21 September 2026. A further 214 homes at Central Exchange, Southbank Terminal and Westbrook Distribution Site are under construction, and work on the conversion of 30 homes at Meridian Court begins in October 2026.
The second phase of 860 homes will be announced in the Newsroom once sites have been confirmed with the member organisations concerned. The full schedule of the first phase, with completion dates by site, is set out on the Affordable Housing page of this site.
